Disaster Reporting – Wayne County

Residents of Wayne County who are impacted by flood related damage to their home or business as a result of the March 2021 flooding are encouraged to utilize the online self-reporting survey.

Why should I report?
The purpose of reporting flood damage is to collect information from affected residents to determine if the county will meet the threshold to receive federal assistance. The damage information collected will be forwarded to the State of West Virginia to see if the residents of the county will qualify for any type of federal disaster aid. The more damage that can be reported, the more likely it is that the federal government will approve assistance to homeowners.

Property owners are asked to document the extent of damage before beginning cleanup and repair. Pictures, videos and receipts are all helpful in the reports.
