Applicant requirements

Applicants are required to hold current West Virginia EMT-B or EMT-P level certification or have means to obtain such certification through reciprocity. (ie NREMT-P or NREMT-B certification). In addition, applicants are required to obtain or be currently certified as an NREMT-B. Applicants must have a valid drivers license. Applicants must be willing to subject to a criminal background check and must also pass substance abuse screening. Applicants must possess good verbal and written communication skills. Due to the dynamic nature of EMS, applicants should have a firm grasp on all skills and protocols appropriate to his/her level of training.
